Situated in the picturesque village of Great Missenden in a fold of the Chiltern Hills, Buckinghamshire Adult Learning at Missenden Abbey offers artists and craft enthusiasts of all ages and ability levels the opportunity to benefit from the unique and inspiring environment and from the huge range of courses on offer. Facilities include art studios and dark room facilities for traditional photography, as well as laptops for digital photography and textile design courses.
The programme of weekday, weekends, evenings and week-long courses includes various forms of art including Chinese painting, watercolour, portrait and life painting, and crafts such as beads, card making, jewellery making, hand and machine embroidery, knitting, lace & tatting, mosaics, patchwork & quilting, sculpture, stained glass, textiles, floristry, and woodcarving to name but a few.
Whilst some of the courses lead to City & Guilds qualifications, every course aims to develop the skills and creativity of the learner with first class, highly inspirational tutors of national and even international reputation.
