Contemporary Craft Editor
Rachael Chambers is the Contemporary Craft Editor of craft&design magazine and joined the team in January 2007. Prior to this Rachael had been a features writer for the magazine.
Rachael trained as a graphic designer and then went on to work in tourism, the arts and education with jobs as Marketing Director of the World of Glass and Communications Manager for DeMontfort University. In 2002 Rachael became the owner of Ferrers Gallery at Staunton Harold near Ashby de la Zouch in Leicestershire.
Since becoming her own boss Rachael has developed her business into a multi award winning gallery and member of the ICGA (Independent Craft Gallery Association) showcasing over 300 makers over 3 floors with a changing exhibition programme for each of the upper two floors. Rachael also runs smarter marketing courses and consultations for craft and tourism businesses and in 2007 opened a second gallery in Quorn, Leicestershire.
Rachael is a Prince's Trust Business Mentor, a member of WIRE (Women in Rural Enterprise) and the Federation of small business and a mum to a young son.
