Business Editor
Pete started his career as an intern at Govancroft Pottery in Glasgow, before moving south to attend Art College. His first job was as Town Artist in Chorley, Lancashire – devising and running arts activities including alfresco raku firings, mural painting and photography. The earlier part of his career was then dedicated to working as an artist in education both here and in the US.
In the 80’s he was encouraged by Arts Council England, East Midlands to share his knowledge with other artists and craftspeople. Since then he has focused on working with creative people - setting up and running post-graduate courses, artists mentoring schemes, business start-up training, and continuing professional development programmes.
Pete’s company, The Art of Work, is dedicated to providing the support creative people need to develop – via the written word, coaching and mentoring, and talks, seminars and training events.
Pete is trained to Postgraduate level in Personal and Business coaching and has undertaken Business Link mentor training. He has a 5* rating on the Business Link suppliers register – based on client feedback.
