Craft in Focus

Beware of the Expo Guide!

Don't get caught!
One of our readers has flagged us down about the Expo-Guide, apparently similar in concept to the FairGuide, but based in Mexico rather than Austria. Many exhibitors fell foul of the FairGuide, thinking that by completing the forms they were submitting information for a FREE listing in the FairGuide. They were wrong, as the very small print pointed out, but the confusion comes because the forms are presented in such a way that they appear to relate to and be associated with some of the main Trade Fairs in the country.

Our advice is DO NOT respond to anything you receive inviting you to have a listing in the FairGuide, the Expo Guide or anything similar. The Expo Guide has nothing to do with the organisers of the events mentioned on the forms.

ALWAYS READ THE SMALL PRINT! Don't even pick up your pen until you're very confident that you know exactly what you're signing.

For more guidance see the ACID website - where there is a sample of the Expo Guide form for you to see, should you be in any doubt.
