Feedback from Makers wanted on MADE (Brighton) and LIVING CRAFTS (Hatfield House)
1) If they were successful shows for them (worth doing again?),

I'm considering applying for these shows and wondered if anyone would share feedback on:
2) If they were busy shows (lots of visitors) and
3) If they felt the organizers did a good job (making it a well run show for both stand holders and buyers).Thank you in advance,

- I did Brighton Craft Fair (now called Made) the first two years and although there were plenty people through I did not feel they were spending more than £20, although some people got big sales.
Some of the organisation was great, like the porters to help.
I am sure I would have said more at the time but it is a while ago now so much water has gone under the bridge.
I hope you get feedback who has done it since the name change.

I did Livings Crafts at Hatfield in May 2007.
The venue is a lovely stately home with beautiful grounds and is always well attended, even though the advertising in 2007 was poor. I live about 30 mins drive from Hatfield and saw no AA signs or local paper adverts. This was my first big craft fair and was nervous and excited...
I paint and decorate wooden letters for children, all designed and painted by me on my dining room table, so being in a marquee with traders who were selling 'hand-made' crafts that were obviously brought in bulk was quite upsetting. I made a huge financial loss, as the stand was expensive not to mention time and effort to stock it! One trader was quite rude when it came to packing up, by threatening to push my stand out of the way so they could get their stuff out first. And it rained! But it was May Bank holiday weekend!!
Maybe I'll do another big fair again but it won't at Hatfield.
