A selling exhibition celebrating The Gloucestershire Guild as a community of makers, the expression of working together and the sharing of ideas. All items in the show will be lovingly handcrafted by our talented members, and will connect through the notion of a gathering of people around a table.

Willow Sculptures with Phil Bradley- Hares

Event Type: Craft Course/Workshop
Phil Bradley has been running Willow days here for 10 years,a Cumbrian Willow Master growing organic willow his courses here are among our most popular we run.
If it's warm enough we'll be working in the Tea Garden using the grass on which to be creative under Phil's excellent tutoring - fresh coffee and lovely 2 course lunch included.

The Gloucestershire Guild of Craftsmen return to Tetbury's 17th Century Market House to hold their Spring Show - Guild Crafts Tetbury.
An eclectic and dynamic mix of disciplines including, textiles, ceramics, jewellery, basketry, furniture and leather will be available to purchase and commission, while daily craft demonstrations share the skills of the craftsmen.

For sixteen days in June Surrey artists will be welcoming the public into their studios for the annual Surrey Artists' Open Studios (SAOS) event taking place in artist's studios right across the county. There will be over 275 artists taking part in 164 studios.

Soft Basketry Techniques

Event Type: Craft Course/Workshop
Join Averil for the day and learn all about soft basketry techniques, over the course of the day it will be possible to produce several containers, maybe 3 or 4 depending on your choice. A lovely relaxing, productive and 'in touch with nature' day.
Learn to weave rushes and long leaves from your garden into a variety of useful containers. Garlic baskets, a glasses cases.

Whittling Wildlife in Wood with Dave Harter - Birds

It's addictive! Relaxing, absorbing and creative & has a small low tech kit list -a lump of wood, a craft knife & your lap.
During this course Dave will teach you traditional hand carving, whittling, skills, using craft knives and other specialist hand tools provided to enable you to complete a bird in just a day.

Zarzo Trays & Baskets

Makers Guild Wales member Clare Revera will teach you how to create these striking trays and baskets from natural willow. Suitable for complete novices to basketry but also great skills to add to your current willow/basket work.

Hazel-Framed Baskets 'by Knife'

Event Type: Craft Course/Workshop
Day 1 will include a lot of bushcraft - cyntells, gypsy craft, material selection, dressing with a knife (technique applicable to much split wood basketry and skeined work), riving, stripping, dressing and soaking.
Day 2 starts with preparing the main frame spelks and taws, before weaving & creating your own beautiful Hazel basket.
Incls lovely 2 course Aga lunches.
