Hazel-Framed Baskets 'by Knife'

Event Type: Craft Course/Workshop
Day 1 will include a lot of bushcraft - cyntells, gypsy craft, material selection, dressing with a knife (technique applicable to much split wood basketry and skeined work), riving, stripping, dressing and soaking.
Day 2 starts with preparing the main frame spelks and taws, before weaving & creating your own beautiful Hazel basket.
Incls lovely 2 course Aga lunches.

With everything from artwork, jewellery, accessories, ceramics, photography, woodwork, fudge and so much more. Wings & Wheels has been running for 13 years and attracts an average 40,000 visitors over 2 days. Our Craft Marquee sits fabulously outside the V.I.P tent and flight line close to the main entrance.

Willow Sculpture - Large Pods + Orbs

Use the ancient tradition of weaving willow on a contemporary piece which will enhance any garden. This beautiful willow "orb" (or "pod" if you leave a hole) will look fantastic in the garden or indoors - especially decorated with fairly lights or with a bulb inside…

By the end of the day you'll go home with your own gorgeous willow hare - gazing, running, laying down, you choose. It's an intensive day and willow weaving is harder work than you might think!
