Learn about the basics of making cheese, how to produce hard & soft cheese, starter cultures & rennets from Rachel Shreeve, an Artisan cheese maker in the Cumbrian Fells. Using Goats, Ewe's or Cows milk, learn what varies the taste of the cheese ,different curdling agents and how temperature and humidity effect the finished product.
Spend a day designing and cutting a paper panel unique to you. You will explore letter forms to enable you to design your panel and will also master accurate cutting. This course is suitable for all levels of expertise including the complete novice.
You will be shown how to set up the sewing machine and the use of a variety of stitches. We will then go on to making your project using all your new found skills. We will be covering a broad base of sewing skills such as top stitching, button and buttonholes, hemming and seam finishings.
Experimental calligraphy can big and boisterous, delicate and gentle, stretched or manipulated. Calligraphy is a thoroughly enjoyable pastime and can be used to present your favourite poetry or create personal greetings cards, small books or framed work. Calligraphic scripts used in a modern experimental way can look stunning in black on white or can be given an added dimension using colour.
Zentangle is a meditative drawing method that allows people to slow down, relax and develop their creativity. It helps people to achieve a state of relaxed attention through being calmly focussed in the present moment. It is suitable for artists and non-artists, and if you think you can't draw, it is exciting to create beautiful, complex-looking images.

A celebration of all that is good to eat and drink (and a lot more besides) at this well loved event now running for its 8th year, now in a new home at the Hertfordshire County Showground. You can enjoy browsing, sampling and buying from Food, craft and art stallholders together with enjoying cookery demonstrations, throughout the weekend.
Explore the nature and potential of different clays and other natural materials, practising hand-building methods to create a selection of functional items or sculptural forms. The function of the item will determine the choice of finish - either a natural ash glaze or burnishing. Items will be fired after the course for collection or posting. All levels welcome.
FORMAT photography festival is the largest biennale photography exhibition in the UK and will be hosted in 30 venues across Derby. Banks Mill Studios will host work by four recent University of Derby graduates; they were selected by a panel of FORMAT judges from a large body of talented graduating students to form The FORMAT Graduates Award.

In celebration of the 300th anniversary of Handel's Water Music, this selected exhibition is inspired by water and music. The CGS and Pyramid Gallery have selected 27 glass artists from the UK and abroad who submitted their work in a competition that attracted a total of 55 entries.
An exciting new free contemporary design and craft event bringing together around 120 of the best craft talent in the country, as part of Canary Wharf Group's diverse Arts + Events programme. The show offers members of the public the chance to meet and buy from makers across two weeks 17 - 20 March and 22 - 25 March, each session will have a different selection of work.
