Handmade in Britain was set up in 2007 by Piyush Suri as an initiative to support and promote designer-makers who create their work in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. The organisation aims to maintain high standards in the craft sector and to create market opportunities for buying and selling craft. One of the main goals of Handmade in Britain is to increase accessibility to the works of craft people by organising The Contemporary Craft and Design Fairs in Britain. These fairs also serve as a platform for up and coming designer-makers who are new to the business

- Retail events held for 3 days, as stand alone craft event, indoors

- £500 minimum craft stand cost per event
- More than one stand selling the same craft accepted but limited
- Mixed crafts on one stand Accepted by arrangement
- Free demonstration space sometimes offered
- 3000 total visitor attendance at last year's top show
- Entrance cost for one adult: £5
