The tenth annual Saltaire Arts Trail uses a fascinating range of public and (usually) private buildings and spaces to showcase emerging and established artists.
The famous OPEN HOUSES challenge the concept of art galleries, whilst the MAKERS FAIR features the best independent artists, makers and designers from across the UK. Plus a programme of exhibitions, workshops, installations & performances

Ellie Chaney and Lynn Hamel at Low Sizergh Barn

Event Type: Gallery Exhibition
Ellie Chaney creates papercuts, illustrations and animations. Creating artwork that is intricately detailed has always been a passion of hers, and so when she discovered papercutting in 2010 she fell instantly in love with the medium.
Lynn Hamel has developed the technique of 'wool art', where strands of wool are glued to a canvas to make unique artworks.

Roger Bell at the Brewhouse

Event Type: Gallery Exhibition
A new solo exhibition from Roger Bell. Roger's work is best described as sculpture for domestic interiors and gardens. Eclectic inspirations include the jigsaw form, buildings, furniture and containers. He creates two and three dimensional work ranging in size from maquettes of 5cm to sculptures of 125cm tall.
The Brewhouse at Burgundy's is open from Tuesday to Saturday, 10.30 - 5.00 pm

"Outline", is a new group exhibition from the region's premier artists collective Green Door. Opening on 24 May at Kendal Museum, the exhibition includes drawings, mixed media, paintings, papercuts, prints, wire sculptures and textiles.

Off the Surface - the art of hand-embroidery

A collaborative exhibition showcasing the art of hand embroidery, old and new. Degree students from The Royal School of Needlework have produced contemporary, hand-embroidered work inspired by treasured textiles from world renowned archives at Hampton Court Palace.

Julie Cope's Grand Tour: The Story of a Life by Grayson Perry

Event Type: Gallery Exhibition
A Crafts Council touring exhibition
The Crafts Council have recently acquired: a pair of tapestries by Grayson Perry, winner of the Turner Prize in 2003.
The touring exhibition will consist of a diptych of the two tapestries, which tells Julie's story through Perry's recognisably vibrant and detail-orientated style.
