Paint & Scratch Techniques - Acrylics & Oil Pastel

Do you like a bit of excitement and magic in your painting? Would you like to be a little more spontaneous in the way you work? If so, this might be the workshop for you! Teaching her favourite technique, artist Jane Burnley will show you how to produce beautiful results by painting acrylic paint on top of oil pastel, then scratching through to reveal hidden colours beneath ('sgraffito' technique)

Mastering Knife Skills in Wood- Carve a Butter Spreader

Start knife carving in wood - it's amazing what you can do with just a small axe and a couple of knives. Working with green unseasoned wood you will learn to use really simple tools to carve and whittle using techniques that are almost like drawing in wood. Learn these lovely relaxing techniques using the most basic tools - with no power tools you'll enjoy the freedom of simple carving.
