Create a piece of jewellery out of art clay, a fabulous medium for making just about shape - from the simplest piece to the most organic and intricate patterns. These, once fired, turn your clay project into Fine Silver (99.9% pure) which is a higher quality that the jewellery "norm" of Sterling Silver (92.5%). Day Course in Pizza Oven Building with David Alty

Event Type: Craft Course/Workshop
Starting with an existing plinth we will prepare, level and install the fire brick base. A brief chat about clay selection and its time to get down and dirty with shoes and socks off, treading the cob. Whilst this is going on we will make a sand former and everyone will take turns at every task. Now for the construction; forming cob loves we will cover the former to create an oven.

Artisan Cheesemaking at Home with Dr Rachael Shreeve of 'Aries Dairies'

Event Type: Craft Course/Workshop
Rachael practices true small scale Artisan cheesemaking in the Cumbrian fells. With 3 dairy sheep she's self sufficient in all dairy products; producing hard cheeses- Romano & Lancashire types, plus several soft cheeses including feta. Whatever's left goes to make butter, cream and yoghurts.
During the course you will make your own batch of soft cheese, and learn how hard cheeses are made.
