Exquisite Japanese Embroidery

Event Type: Craft Course/Workshop
This unique art form originated in Buddhist temples and is used for the elaborate decoration of Kimonos. This rarely taught skill has been based at Hawkwood for over sixteen years. Using traditional methods and techniques you will produce truly stunning works of art and learn about Japanese culture. All levels are welcome.

Woodworking Skills (12 weeks)

An intensive and highly practical 12 week woodworking skills course incorporating furniture design and making, suitable for complete beginners. Students take a City & Guilds 6218 Level 1 Certificate in Basic Construction Skills and an optional level 3 qualification. Towards Abstraction

Metal Clay Ten Week Course

Event Type: Craft Course/Workshop
The aim of the course is for students to discover the joy of learning new skills, stretching their own creative ideas in a relaxed environment and allowing the learner to try different techniques. The courses are limited to six students and are suitable for beginners and those already familiar with some jewellery making techniques. Individual tuition is given to every student.

Felt Picture Workshop

Event Type: Craft Course/Workshop
This workshop is 9 hours long and is tailored to the experience of the individual, so it is suitable for the novice and experienced alike. You will need to bring an inspirational image and I will teach you how to create your Picture using the techniques of wet felting, pre-felting, needle felting, with specific guidance to manipulating the fibres to get the desired effects using merino wool.
