The craft&design Award at The British Glass Biennale 2015

We were delighted to once again present two awards at the British Glass Biennale. Our craft&design Award, which includes a promotional package valued at £3,500, went to Elliot Walker for his stunning ‘Still Life with a Lime’ featuring textured bullet grey glass vessels complemented by a vibrant green polished glass sliced lime. Elliot has only been working with glass for about five years and it’s been an inspiration to watch his work develop. We were really intrigued by his latest range, which is so very different from the sculptures we first saw him create.

At the British Glass Biennale in previous years we have chosen to present our craft&design Highly Commended Award to a student, to reflect our commitment to supporting new talent and emerging artists. This year was no exception and we were very pleased to select Alicja Patanowska for this Award, which includes a promotional package valued at £1,750. Alicja left her native Poland to study ceramics and glass at the Royal College of Art. Her award winning Stratum series features two clear round glass vessels, topped with a swirl of white porcelain, one concave, one convex.
